How to identify it

  • Slim bird, 25 to 28 cm, slate-grey above, rufous-buff below.
  • Fine yellow eye-ring and a long barred tail.
  • A descending, trilled call.

Where it lives

Along the gully and woodland edges.

When to look

Its slow trilling call carries in spring.
